Profile note
A German non-profit association that had outsized global impact: the LAION-5B image-text dataset underpins Stable Diffusion and much of the open text-to-image ecosystem, and OpenCLIP is the standard open CLIP reimplementation. LeoLM (with hessian.AI) was the first serious German-language open LLM suite. No commercial product, no pricing — its role in the European stack is upstream data and reference weights.
