Profile note

Iceland's entire modern language-technology capability essentially runs through one 17-person company. Two things make it distinctive. First, the strategy: rather than only training Icelandic models, Miðeind ran an RLHF programme with ~40 volunteers directly with OpenAI — the only nation-language project among six GPT-4 launch partnerships — after an Icelandic presidential delegation met Sam Altman.
