Profile note
The most academically decorated German model lab of the current cycle: TabPFN is a Nature-published tabular foundation model that reaches state of the art at ~11M parameters, inverting the scale-is-everything assumption. Bought by SAP in 2026 for >€1B over four years to anchor a European frontier AI lab for structured business data. Recorded separately from SAP because it continues to operate independently and publishes its own weights.
