RAISE — Resource for Artificial Intelligence Science in Europe

Headquarters evidence

RAISE is conceived as a virtual research institute for excellent European research on and with AI . It will pool computational power, data, talent and research funding and make this available to European researchers.

The European Commission's own page states RAISE is conceived as a virtual research institute that pools distributed resources. A headquarters is structurally not applicable to a virtual EU institute, so the EU body/consortium scope applies and no country or city is asserted.

Evidence boundaries

Organisation listings identify a reviewed canonical record. Headquarters is independent of incorporation, registered offices, ownership, hosting and runtime. Model listings show an association in the source register; they do not by themselves establish model creation, current API availability, hosting location or infrastructure ownership.

Profile note

Flagship of the European Strategy for AI in Science, announced by EVP Henna Virkkunen and Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva. Its relevance here is that it is the mechanism intended to keep AI researchers in Europe by pooling compute, data and funding around scientific problems — the 'CERN for AI' idea in its actual, considerably smaller, funded form.
