Profile note
The UK's best-known generative-media lab and the origin of Stable Diffusion — the model family that made open-weight image generation a global default. Nearly collapsed in 2024; stabilised under Prem Akkaraju and Sean Parker, who eliminated $100M+ of debt and secured $80M new investment, and has since pivoted hard to enterprise licensing, reportedly reaching a ~$190M annual revenue run-rate in 2025-26.
